SBM Fire Corps Program

What is Fire Corps? Fire Corps is the key component of citizen corps that supports and supplements resource constrained fire departments through the use of citizen advocates for non-operations activities.Citizen advocates who aid departments in non-operational activities  allow first responders to focus their efforts on being prepared for and responding to the most critical life threatening situations.

Fire Exploring is a unique opportunity for youth age 14-20 to gain experience in the career of firefighting and emergency services.  Exploring Post #3710, hosted by the SBM Fire Department, is made up of youth from Spring Lake Park, Blaine, Irondale, Centennial, and Coon Rapids High Schools as well as several post-secondary institutions.  Our Explorers train with SBM Firefighters to learn all of the necessary skills and abilities to one day join the job.  Currently meeting weekly on Sunday evenings for training as well as countless events with the Fire Department.  The Post competes on both the State and National level as well.  Click on the gallery below to see some of our Explorers in action!  For more information, contact Post Coordinator Maddison Zikmund at (763) 767-4003 or fill out the application form below!
